Lisa’s blended family hadn’t yet taken their family photos together and this was her opportunity to capture them for the firs time in their beautiful home.

It was such a pleasure meeting Lisa and her family of six! When I arrived at her beautiful home in Rancho Bernardo, it was clear that not only were we going to get a family album of beautiful portraits, but we would decorate a couple of her walls with wall-art pieces as well. On the photoshoot day, we took a combination of everyone’s photos inside their home as well as outside in their backyard. At the photo reveal appointment, we prepared up to five wall-art arrangements for Lisa to imagine on her walls and Lisa ordered several pieces alongside a gorgeous family album that they’ll be able to keep for life.

These days, photography has taken on a bit of a candid-style, and while I cherish those moments, my goal with Lisa was to capture portraits that would be timeless for any decade, yet not absolutely boring either. We took combinations of photos with everyone in their family, brother and sister, mom and dad, brother/brother, etc. In the end, with proper photoshoot preparation, we were able to capture photos that showcased her family’s true essence and personality.

• Prepared a shot list so we didn’t forget the important shots

At your ordering appointment, it can be difficult to choose your favorites since they’re all going to be amazing…what I will ask you is, “Which portraits will your family cherish 20 years from now?” This question will have you notice your top favorites immediately which will then be selected, master retouched, and sent for print ordering.
